KATERINA KORSHUN is a textile artist born in Kazakhstan who lives and works in Italy. With a background in fashion design, she found in fiber art the perfect expression of her passion for textiles.
Her artistic practice explores the themes of memory, identity, and the connection between human beings and nature. Her work is based on the search for rhymes and symmetries between natural phenomena and the human inner world.
She creates monumental wool tapestries using the ancient technique of wet felting, reinterpreted through a contemporary approach shaped by more than seventeen years of experimentation with natural fibers.
The large scale and tactile surfaces of her tapestries create a space for deep contemplation and emotional respite.
